About Me
My name is Tonquise Frederick, though many know me simply as TQ. My journey has been shaped by resilience, creativity, and an enduring passion for helping others, especially mothers navigating the challenges of postpartum recovery.
I graduated from Mary Baldwin University in 2003 with a degree in communications. During my time there, I founded the Kuumba Players, the university’s first African-American theater troupe, because I believed in the importance of giving diverse voices a place to shine. That same desire to uplift and support others guided me throughout my professional and personal life.
After earning my master’s degree in human resources management, I worked as the chief officer of diversity and inclusion for an advertising technology company. Every role I took on was driven by a commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and making meaningful change wherever I could.

Becoming a mother and later a birth doula introduced me to a world of women quietly struggling through postpartum recovery. I saw the gap firsthand and wanted to create something better. That vision led me to start Prende Pants an eco-friendly, high waisted postpartum legging company that combined sustainable materials with ancient belly binding principles. It was a labor of love, born out of my own experiences and a deep desire to offer real support to women during one of their most vulnerable times.
In 2019, I faced one of my greatest personal challenges when I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I embraced a holistic approach to my healing, combining medical care with spiritual grounding, community support, and mindful lifestyle changes. Throughout it all, I remained deeply involved in my community, raising my four children, volunteering, and continuing to advocate for maternal health and empowerment.
Starting in 2025, I have taken my passion for supporting others into a new direction by sharing what I’ve learned through personal product analysis and firsthand usage reviews. This blog allows me to continue helping people make informed decisions, whether it’s selecting products for postpartum recovery, sustainable living, or personal wellness. My reviews are shaped by real experience, careful research, and the same care I brought to every stage of my life.
Here, you’ll find honest, practical insights on products that genuinely serve people’s needs. From eco-friendly apparel to wellness tools and daily essentials, I explore what works, what doesn’t, and why it matters. My goal is simple: to provide thoughtful guidance that empowers others, just as I’ve always aimed to do.
